The Horse County Tour of Hunting Valley

The Horse County Tour of Hunting Valley was again held this year to raise money for the Western Reserve Land Conservancy. I was again asked to participate which I love to do to add historical stories to the event. The event as expected was a grand success and all who attended had a grand experience.

The event itself involves folks from the area bringing their antique cars and driving in mass to visit various famous estates still in existence in our area. Your storyteller upon arrival does a story and background on each property. Three estates were selected this year with a caravan of about fifty cars. Upon completion of our tour, the group returns to the very historical stable at White North, a complex once owned by Windsor White founded with brothers Rollin and Walter of the White Motor Company.

After dinner I again tell some little known interesting stories about the history of White North, formally known as Halfred Farms. All leave I believe with new eyes as to how magnificent Cleveland, Ohio was in its’ Gilded Age.

Ina time when charitable events have become rather predictable, the Horse County Tour proves that substantial monies can be raised in a rather unique, enjoyable, informative format. An event that is talked about for months to come.

Please enjoy the following pictures to judge for yourself.

Best wishes,
